A Rainbow Kind of Day
To children experiencing homelessness, the littlest things can trigger the biggest feelings.
Together with children, watch the video and ask questions to get them talking:
- Why did the color purple make Lily so sad?
- What did Sofia explain to Lily? How did that make Lily feel?
- What did Elmo tell Lily that made her feel a little better?
- Why did Elmo bring her lily stickers (what are lilies a symbol of)? Why is that so important to Lily?
You might finish by coloring a rainbow together, or just looking around to find something in each color of the rainbow.
