Play I Notice, I Feel, I Can
Children can help their Sesame Street friends manage their big feelings with a three-step strategy.
Help children navigate this game and learn a way to take care of big feelings: noticing how their body feels, naming their feelings, and trying something that may help.
You might first watch the companion video here and check out the printable page here.
Whenever big feelings start to come up, remind children of the three steps (“I Notice, I Feel, I Can”), and practice them together. It’s great if children see you modeling the strategy on your own when you’re having a hard time, too (“I can’t find my keys and I’m starting to feel hot and uncomfortable. I feel so frustrated! I’ll take some deep breaths.”).
