Bye Bye for Now Song
Saying goodbye can be hard to do. Explore some strategies to make it easier.
- Watch the video together and talk about some of the feelings that come up when it’s time to say goodbye. Little ones may be worried that you won’t return, or be nervous about new surroundings. Assure them that you will always come back for them.
- In the video, point out some ways to make saying goodbye a little bit easier, like giving two kisses and a hug, or holding onto a family picture to look at during the day.
- Create your own goodbye routine! Using paper and crayons or markers, draw pictures for each other that you can look at while you are away from each other. Exchange pictures, and let kids know you’re excited to make new pictures together when you see each other again.
