Where Should We Go?

Even taking a walk around the neighborhood can offer opportunities for autistic children to make choices—and have fun!

Inviting children to help you make plans and make choices throughout the day can build confidence and self-determination skills they’ll need to be successful in life. Encourage kids to decide where Julia and Rose should go on their walk through the neighborhood. As you color and play, talk about your plans for the day or week, asking, “What sounds fun to you?”
