Families’ lives were turned upside when the COVID-19 pandemic forced the abrupt shuttering of schools, businesses, and workplaces in the spring of 2020—presenting challenges for everyone, especially families, as they learned to navigate and adapt to a continually changing “new normal”.
At Sesame Workshop, we know that young children are observant witnesses who are actively trying to make sense of the world around them, especially during tumultuous times. As a result, Sesame Street committed to supporting families throughout the COVID-19 health crisis. We wanted to offer comfort and ways for families to thrive despite the challenges of 2020.
Sesame Workshop sought out to explore how children were experiencing or processing the pandemic, to elevate children’s voices and learn how to continue to best support families as they respond to the world around them.
