When challenges and feelings are BIG, there are little things you can do to help things feel easier for your child. Together with your child, watch this video in which Wes and Elijah demonstrate a simple strategy: keeping a small, simple object with them to remind them of their loved one all day long.  

Try it yourselves — you might choose (and even paint) small rocks together. Or, offer your child a small item such as a photo of you, a piece of your jewelry (that’s replaceable if it gets lost!), or a small square of fabric from a piece of your old clothing. Invite them to keep it in their pocket or backpack so they can hold it or look at it… and think of you.
