Connection & Caring

Helping children develop the social skills to connect joyfully and build caring relationships.

Sesame Street welcomes children to a community where furry, feathered, and human neighbors all look out for one another. Children are members of their own communities as well — from families to neighborhoods to schools — and when they realize that they can contribute, they know they are important, and they matter.

With help from beloved friends like Elmo, Abby, Grover, and Cookie Monster, our media and resources help children learn practices like sharing, listening, seeing different perspectives, and resolving conflicts. These lifelong skills prepare them to be vital members of every community they’re in.
