Aymee Garcia is a Cuban/American puppeteer hailing from Hialeah, Florida. She is thrilled to be joining this insanely talented group of puppeteers on Sesame Street this season.

Her puppetry career started while she was in college, traveling to preschools with her dear friend Sharon Fuentes. After their college classes, they would have story time with puppets and preschoolers that Garcia would build out of supplies from craft and thrift stores. Garcia was later fortunate to play roles in several television puppet shows along the way: Al the Gator in Jellybean Jungle; Smooch in It’s a Big Big World’ as Trixie in Lazytown Ripple in Splash and Bubbles; and most recently, Marjory the Trash Heap and Ma Gorg in Fraggle Rock:Back to the Rock.Garcia has also traveled the world as a musical theater performer in shows such as Les Miserables, Avenue Q, Shrek the Musical, and Cinderella.

She is currently in the cast of Into the Woods on Broadway as Jack’s Mom. She recently joined Sesame Street, filling the shoes of both Rosa and Abuela (Rosita’s Mom and Grandmother) on Season 53. She also plays the role of Marisol, a brand new character on the Street.
