  • Nine Sesame Street Clips to Get You in the Holiday Spirit!

‘Tis the season to be jolly, and there’s no place jollier than Sesame Street! Cozy up with a mug of something warm, and enjoy these nine seasonal classics from past and present which are sure to get you in the holiday spirit!

1. Bert and Ernie Exchange Gifts

In this tear-jerker, which is part of the Emmy-Award winning 1978 special Christmas Eve on Sesame Street, Bert and Ernie each trade their prized possessions to buy their best buddy a Christmas gift.

2. I want a Snuffleupagus for Christmas

Anne Hathaway and Big Bird say – or rather, sing – it all in this Christmas tune, which celebrates all the wonderful things about having a caring friend like Snuffleupagus in your life!

3. Cookie Monster’s Skating Song

First premiering in 2022 as part of the animated special Sesame Street: The Nutcracker Starring Elmo & Tango, Cookie Monster’s Skating Song will have you itching to get on the ice!

4. Baby Bear and Telly Play Dreidel

In this sweet video from 2002, Baby Bear gives Telly a lesson in how to play the classic Hannukah game. Watch and sing along as the friends spin the dreidel and try to get “gimel” to win the game!

5. The Bert and Ernie Christmas Special with Tony Sirico and Steve Schirripa

Fans of Sesame Street and The Sopranos alike rejoice watching this clip from 2007, where Bert and Ernie hire the two actors to reenact their classic “banana in my ear” skit with a holiday twist.

6. Carol of the Bells

Jennifer Hudson is joined by some spirited singing animals in this traditional carol, which aired as part of the 2007 special Elmo’s Christmas Countdown and is sure to be stuck in your head all season.

7. Celebrate Kwanzaa Song

Join Tamir, Gabrielle, and Grandma Nell as they celebrate Kwanzaa and sing all about the seven principles of the special holiday like Umoja (unity) and Kuumba (creativity) in this sweet, animated clip.

8. Prairie Dawn’s Christmas Pageant

With Bert as Joseph; Rosita as Mary; and Herry Monster, Grover, and Cookie Monster as the Three Kings, you’ve never seen a Nativity play quite like Prairie Dawn’s, put on as part of the 2002 hour-long Elmo’s World: Happy Holidays special.

9. Elmo & Tango Holiday Helpers

In this brand-new holiday special streaming only on MAX, Elmo and his puppy, Tango, team up with an interior designer and some Sesame Street friends to bring holiday cheer to a deserving teacher and her students.
