Small Steps, Healthy Wins

A course for clinicians that offers evidence- and strengths-based guidance to aid in your work supporting families in building healthy habits that last a lifetime.

Drawing on principles of family-centered care, expert advice, and direct input from pediatricians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants, this course provides a strengths-based framework to support clinicians as they empower families to:

  1. Take small steps toward building healthy habits as a part of their families’ everyday routines.
  1. See the larger picture of a lifetime of well-being that is built on those small steps.

In four units centered around the cornerstones of children’s health—making connections, eating well, joyful movement, and sound sleep—you will gain:

  • Fresh perspectives and guidance from a variety of experts and clinicians in the pediatric field as well as families of young children.
  • Brief, evidence-based, family-centered tools and techniques to aid in communication with families in a variety of circumstances, designed to fit into the flow of a typical well visit (including ideas for when you have very little time!).
  • Shareable resources that combine expert advice with the familiar-fluffy-furry power of Sesame Street to connect with families and children and reinforce guidance from their visit.
