Sharing Cookies
When Alan runs out of cookies, Elmo shares his with Cookie Monster.
Sharing is hard for kids! Watch the video together and ask kids, “Has someone ever wanted something you had? What did you do?” You might also share an experience of your own.
Then, practice sharing during the day:
- Time it! Let kids know that they can play with a toy for 10 minutes, and then, when the timer goes off, it’s your turn (or a sibling or friend’s turn) to play for 10 minutes.
- Model it! Make sure that kids see you share with others.
- Notice it! When you see kids share, let them know you’re proud of them for doing so. It will encourage them to keep doing so!
