Me and My Abuelo
Grandparents can help teach children new skills that they may not be able to learn anywhere else!
In the video, a little girl is spending time with her grandfather. After watching it, talk about the special skills and interests she shares with him. Ask, “What special activity would you like to do with your grandparent(s)?” You might suggest:
- Start sharing family stories and sketching out a family tree.
- Prepare a special family recipe together, and talk about where it comes from.
- Talk about their own parents’ or grandparents’ specials skills and talents. Make a plan to share one of these with children.
- Exchange pictures or notes to let both grandparents and grandchildren know how much they are loved and valued.
