H Is for Handwashing
Learn how kids all across the world keep their hands clean.
- As you read this story together, point out the ways kids wash their hands around the world. How do kids get clean water? What do they do if they don’t have water? How is each place the same as, or different from, children’s own communities? Explain that all kids everywhere keep germs away by washing their hands.
- Ask kids about the different places they might wash their hands, such as at home, at daycare, or in a public restroom. Each place is a little different. How do kids get soap or turn on the water in each one? What can they do if they can’t reach the sink, soap, or towel? Let them know that they can join Elmo and Raya’s “scrub club” wherever they are!
