Warrick Brownlow-Pike is extremely proud to be the only British Sesame Street Muppet performer. His passion for performing began when he was just two years old. Inspired by the work of Jim Henson, Brownlow-Pike has always known that it was his destiny to work with the Muppets on the happiest Street in the world.
His association with Sesame Street began in 2010 when Elmo visited England and needed a helping hand. But, it was in the Sesame Workshop/CBeebies co-production The Furchester Hotel where he first performed Gonger as a background monster. Brownlow-Pike continued to develop Gonger’s character, who worked his way up from being hotel chef to Food Truck owner on Sesame Street.
Brownlow-Pike developed, wrote, and produced a pilot of “Cookie Monster’s Foodie Truck,” which successfully debuted in Season 48 and is still going strong! He also starred as Gonger in Sesame Street’s 50th Anniversary Special and has performed assorted monsters, humans and animals on the Street since joining.
For 16 years, he has worked as a Puppeteer and content creator for the BBC on their biggest puppet projects. He has been entertaining children on the BBC preschool channel CBeebies with his original character Dodge the Dog for 13 years and counting. Dodge has worked with the biggest celebrities around and even performed for the Queen of England!
Warrick was a UK Muppet Performer on Disney’s Muppets Most Wanted and works with the Disney Muppets whenever they visit the UK. He recently assisted Kermit the Frog for the King’s Coronation concert, where he sat in the Royal box with the King of England.
Other credits include performing Jobi in BAFTA winning Get Well Soon, CLOGS on the BBC’s award-winning flagship educational show Bitesize, Marion in BBC Three’s Mongrels, and with the Jim Henson Company on That Puppet Game Show. He also worked with the Jim Henson Company taking on the role of second assistant Puppet Captain on the Emmy-winning The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance. He also had the pleasure of performing the Chamberlain Skeksis in this ground-breaking series.
Other shows Brownlow-Pike has worked on include the iconic UK satirical puppet series Spitting Image, BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall, Ed and Oucho’s Excellent Inventions, Transmission Impossible, ITV’s This Morning, Blue Peter, The X Factor, All Over the Place, “Barkstage at The Voice with Hacker and Dodge,” Spot Bots, HackerTime, and the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Brownlow-Pike created a show commissioned by the BBC called Meaban & Moo, which is in its second season. It teaches the Gaelic language with the help of characters Meaban the Puffin and Moo the Highland Cow. He co-writes the series and performs Meaban! He also created, produced and co-wrote a concert with Hacker and Dodge and the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, which aired on all BBC radio stations on Christmas Day and a special which features Dodge the dog called ‘Christmas in the CBeebies House’.
