His career has seen him in regional theater, Off Broadway, the small screen, the silver screen, and now digital screens as puppeteer, actor/singer, and voice artist. Born in Tahlequah, OK, Bunch moved around quite a bit before settling in Connecticut in 2000. (He moved 27 times, living in Oklahoma, Virginia, Tennessee, Kentucky, Texas, Louisiana, Florida, and New York.) Bunch’s “big break” in the puppetry world came on the show Bear in the Big Blue House, where he performed “Treelo,” “Pop,” and “Doc Hogg.” He received an Emmy for his work as creative producer on the children’s literacy program Word World, and was nominated for a directing Emmy for another PBS program, It’s A Big, Big World.
His work for Sesame Workshop has included Sesame Beginnings (Baby Cookie), The Electric Company (Jack Bowser), and Sesame Street, where he’s been a regular since Season 37. Bunch played the role of “Marshall” in the feature film Finding Joy and can be seen in The Tick (Amazon Prime) and a few episodes of season two of Search Party (TBS). He says that the highlight of his career has been helping young minds grow for more than two decades with Sesame Street.
