(New York, NY – May 9, 2019) – Just in time for Mother’s Day, Sesame Workshop—the nonprofit organization behind Sesame Street—is gearing up to launch collaborations with a host of mompreneurs. In the coming weeks, Lauren Moshi, ezpz, Milk Snob, Baked by Melissa, and Paul & Joe will launch fresh interpretations of the Sesame Street characters within their niche businesses.

“As we continue to release our slate of collaborations in celebration of our golden anniversary, we’re proud to join forces with talented leaders in a wide range of categories from fashion to beauty to food to parent-essentials,” said Gabriela Arenas, Vice President of Licensing, North America, Sesame Workshop. “This month, we’re celebrating these mompreuners who are innovating within their respective industries, and we’re so excited to be debuting their inspired products to Sesame Street fans.”

Fashion designer Lauren Moshi grew up watching Sesame Street, and now she shares her love of the brand with her two boys. Inspired by her childhood memories and drawing from vintage streetwear and 80’s pop colors, Moshi will unveil her third Sesame Street collection this summer when Super Grover takes centerstage in a new Sesame Street x Lauren Moshi capsule that will include headwear, bags, and art canvases for women and children.

Ezpz founder Lindsey Laurain is a working mother of three boys who serve as her inspiration – and her in-home product testers! This May, the mealtime brand is debuting new all-in-one placemat + plate concepts for Elmo and Cookie Monster. With a stable base that reduces spills, the mats promote self-feeding and help develop fine motor skills, making for a more positive mealtime with little ones.

As a proud mother of three, Melanie Disbrow leveraged her entrepreneurial spirit to launch her company, Milk Snob. As the innovator behind the versatile knit cover for infant car seats, nursing, shopping carts, high chairs and infant swings, Disbrow and her team will release a Cookie Monster-inspired print; this design is complete with splashes of blue watercolors on a crisp white background with plenty of cookies and milk, as well as a Sesame Street print that incorporates a black-and-white aesthetic, letting Big Bird, Elmo, and friends pop in vibrant color.

Sesame Street is a source of fond memories for Melissa Ben-Ishay, founder of Baked by Melissa; she often watches the show with her two daughters, just as her mother did with her when she was a kid. Starting in June, Baked by Melissa will introduce five new bite-size cupcake flavors inspired by Sesame Street characters: Big Bird, Elmo, Cookie Monster, Oscar the Grouch, and Abby Cadabby – along with custom Sesame Street gift boxes. The flavors were created using ingredients that perfectly represent each character (the “Cookie Monster” cupcake features blue vanilla cake topped with chocolate crème sandwich cookies and cookie dough!).  Baked by Melissa stores will be outfitted with Sesame Street branding this Fall as well. 

Sophie Mechaly launched Paul & Joe in 2002, naming the fashion and lifestyle brand after her two sons. The brand drew inspiration from New York streetwear for their upcoming Sesame Street women’s fashion line, under their Paul & Joe Sister label which will debut this Fall. Paul & Joe reimagined Ernie’s iconic striped sweater as a cool primary-colored jumper and screen-printed the cast of characters on a t-shirt that also features cheeky printed animals and other woodland critters. Accessories go from subtle – a tote bag printed with a Sesame Street logo – to extravagant – a fluffy red handbag with a clasp inspired by Elmo’s bright orange nose.
