Managing Director, Sesame Workshop Bangladesh
Mohammad Shah Alam is the Managing Director of Sesame Workshop Bangladesh, home of Sisimpur.
Before assuming that role in 2018, Alam was the Literacy Program Director at Room to Read Bangladesh for six years. Previously, Alam spent seven years with Sesame Workshop’s Sisimpur program from 2005 – 2011 with Nayantara Communications, the co-producer of Sisimpur at that time.
Alam has extensive experience in managing early childhood education and non-formal primary education programs throughout Bangladesh, including with organizations such as Save the Children USA, Plan International, and BRAC.
Alam studied International Relations, Primary Education, Development Studies, and Strategic Management in universities in Dhaka and the Netherlands. He loves working with children and believes that investing in the early years brings tremendous returns in the future. He has written dozens of storybooks for children, published by different local publishers.
