Sesame Workshop Named to TIME100 Lists
The two honors name the visionaries and changemakers shaping the world.
Sesame Workshop was named to the 2026 TIME100 Most Influential Companies list, selected from a competitive global field.
To arrive at their sixth-annual list of organizations making an extraordinary impact around the world, TIME editors polled a network of contributors, correspondents, and outside experts and evaluated each organization on key factors including impact, innovation, ambition, and success.
Sesame Workshop also earned a spot on the inaugural TIME100 Companies Industry Leaders list, a new honor highlighting the top 10 companies across 20 sectors. The Workshop was selected in the Wellness category, for being a “resiliency role model” through its work supporting the emotional well-being of children and families.
As part of a 56-year commitment to addressing children’s most pressing needs, Sesame Workshop has met the growing mental health crisis among children with research-based resources and engaging content designed for the whole family. Sesame’s approach offers strategies to support all families – from celebrating joyful everyday moments, to teaching children the essential skills they need to understand and manage their feelings, to helping parents and community providers recognize the signs of more serious mental health challenges.
TIME also noted the way emotional well-being content on Sesame Street leads to measurable impact, citing recent research indicating that, after watching episodes of Season 55, children showed reduced aggression and greater ability for independent and cooperative play.
As Sesame Workshop CEO Sherrie Westin has said, “More than ever, young children need a strong foundation and support system to help them manage their big feelings and bolster their emotional well-being. By addressing children’s unique needs and supporting the caring adults in their lives, we can connect minds, bodies, and hearts.”
