Choose from the five topics in this activity to learn more about healthy habits related to media and technology. On each digital card, start with “The Big Idea” and flip it over to reveal a “Try it!” tip — a playful and practical idea to practice with your own family.
- Making Choices: Create awareness of all the daily decisions we make for ourselves and our children and the reasons behind them.
- Noticing: Practice becoming aware of how we feel in different situations (whether using media or not) and make choices considering those feelings.
- Making Connections: Think about all the ways we connect as a family and explore how to use media as a tool for bonding, engaging, and staying in touch.
- Switching It Up: Help children transition from one activity to another, especially away from screens.
- Talking & Listening: Ask questions about children’s media use to learn about them, support their learning, and spark screen-free play.
