Sesame Workshop and WarnerMedia Announce Distribution Partnership Providing Sésamo Content and More for Kids and Families in Latin America
Beloved Children’s Series Sésamo to Premiere on HBO Max in March
Mexico City, MX, and São Paulo, BR, March 24, 2022 – Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit media and educational organization, and WarnerMedia today announced a distribution partnership to bring Sésamo (Plaza Sésamo) content to a new generation of fans across Latin America on new platforms in both Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese. Building on a production and distribution collaboration in the U.S., the expanded partnership will bring the beloved children’s series, as well as specials and more Sésamo-themed programs, to SVOD service HBO Max. Additional series from Sesame Workshop will launch on pay-TV channel Cartoonito later in the year.
Scheduled to begin launching this month on HBO Max:
- Two seasons of Spanish-language Sésamo and two seasons of Portuguese-language Sésamo. Everyone’s favorite monsters are back! Catch Elmo, Abby Cadabby, and Cookie Monster as the team explores the world around them through playful problem-solving.
- And The Not Too Late Show with Elmo, where guests get off the couch and straight into the action. Everyone’s favorite furry red monster Elmo is our lovable host, and he and his trusty sidekick Cookie Monster put playtime front and center with games, songs, and celebrity friends.
This will be followed by two new seasons of Sésamo, both available in Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, and English.
The partnership also includes two new animated series: Sesame Street Mecha Builders and Bea’s Block, both of which will premiere on the Cartoonito channel. In Sesame Street Mecha Builders, a Sesame Street spin-off, fans will see their beloved friends as CGI-animated “robo superheroes-in-training” who work together to solve silly out-of-this-world problems. In Bea’s Block, bold and curious 5-year-old Bea and her two best block friends go on “Kindness Adventures” to help others in their community. The series spotlights relatable preschool challenges, encouraging children to develop empathy and kindness for others.

Sésamo content is also available on free-to-air broadcaster Azteca in Mexico and on public broadcaster TV Cultura in Brazil.
