(New York, NY, October 9, 2024) Sesame Workshop, the global impact nonprofit behind Sesame Street, has named Hallie Ruvin Senior Vice President of Communications & Public Affairs, overseeing Brand Narrative, Public Affairs, PR, and Events, and Aaron Bisman Senior Vice President of Marketing, responsible for Audience Development, Brand Marketing, Brand Creative, and Marketing Operations. Ruvin and Bisman will report to CEO Sherrie Westin and will join the organization’s Operations team.

“Aaron and Hallie are respected leaders with a demonstrated track record of harnessing the power of the Sesame Street brand to advance our mission for children and families around the world,” said Sherrie Westin, CEO of Sesame Workshop. “Hallie has been at the communications helm of some of the Workshop’s most impactful programs, including our work supporting children affected by conflict and crisis, and she’s been instrumental in building our brand narrative and storytelling functions. Aaron has led the transformation of our marketing efforts into an audience-first framework, building our data infrastructure capabilities and leading the Workshop to its highest adult engagement to date, including re-launching and doubling traffic to sesame.org and growing our organic social media reach to 1.3 billion people annually. Their contributions have been exceptional, and I’m grateful for their thoughtful leadership and deep expertise as we work to help children everywhere grow smarter, stronger, and kinder.”

In her new role, Ruvin will lead communications for the Workshop globally, spearheading strategic communications and storytelling efforts to elevate the Sesame brand and advance its mission. Most recently, Ruvin was VP of Global Brand Narrative & Public Affairs. She joined the Workshop in 2017, overseeing strategic communications for the Social Impact & Philanthropy portfolio. Prior to that, Ruvin served in a number of communications roles at the White House and State Department during the Obama Administration, most recently as White House Associate Communications Director and Director of Specialty Media.

As SVP of Marketing, Bisman will be expanding and elevating consumer engagement, as well as deepening the nonprofit’s relationships with consumers, partners, donors, families, and fans. This includes overseeing global brand management, marketing strategy, owned and paid media, and brand creative. Bisman, who joined the Workshop in 2020, previously served as the Workshop’s VP for Audience Development, overseeing direct-to-consumer strategy and channels including social media, email, and web. Prior to Sesame Workshop, Bisman was Director of Brand, Sales, and Marketing at Jazz at Lincoln Center, where he launched mission-driven enterprises including a Grammy-nominated record company, an NPR co-produced radio program, a branded-content studio, and a jazz-industry conference. He previously spent a decade leading a music and media non-profit which he founded in 2002.
