Move and Learn Together: Movement for Literacy
An interactive webinar experience where providers and kids can move together and learn all about literacy!
In this webinar, Rebecca Honig leads caregivers and kids through some movement-based activities that build knowledge of and practice skills around literacy. You, the important caregiver, will earn how to build language and literacy skills in fun and everyday ways. And you’ll practice these skills so you feel even more comfortable trying them out with kids. And, the kids you care for will join in on the fun too because we’ll all be exploring language and literacy together. With our heads, fingers, knees and toes, we’ll all express ourselves, build letters, act out words, tell stories, and exercise our writing muscles. You can repeat everything we do with children again and again during your daily routines. Every day brings opportunities to leap into language and literacy!
Learning Goals:
- Build language and literacy skills by practicing listening and speaking
- Build vocabulary by acting out words
- Build book awareness and comprehension through gross motor
