Wheels on the Bus
Watch this video to learn more about different modes of transportation.
Transportation helps move us from one place to another. Buses, trains, and subways move more people with less energy than individual vehicles. Electric cars, bikes, scooters, and walking are other options.
Families can sometimes make choices about the transportation they use. When you have this opportunity, it’s good to talk to your children about why you would choose one type of transportation over another. STEM activities like this one can encourage children to engage in maker play and become future inventors.
Before watching: Talk about the different forms of transportation your child(ren) have experienced and what they like or dislike about each one. Then set the purpose for watching to learn about what forms of transportation the Mecha Builders use.
After watching the episode, ask these questions to start a conversation with your child.
- What forms of transportation did the Mecha Builders use?
- What was the goal they were trying to achieve?
- Why did walking and biking not work?
- What was their solution?
