Art Exploration
This interactive artmaker helps promote development through art.
Children can learn so much about themselves and the world around them when they create art. Share these activities and ask children to tell you about what they’ve made. There are different “canvases” to choose from; for each, you might use these conversation starters:
- Make Your Mark: Explore the tools and colors. Can you match the marks on the canvas? Tell me about some ideas you have.
- Shape and Symmetry: Use the shapes to complete the heart. What else is symmetrical (the same on both sides)? What else can you create using shapes?
- Art All Around Us: Art is everywhere! What materials do you like to use? Paint, crayons, clay, glue?
- Draw What You See: Create these pictures in your own style, or look closely and draw what you see.
