Sesame Workshop Announces Iconic Sesame Street Songs Coming to Major Music Platforms in Japan this Month
(Tokyo, Japan, June 30th 2026) — Sesame Workshop announced that, in collaboration with Universal Music LLC’s VMG, Sesame Street songs will be available on major music platforms in Japan starting today.
This launch will make Sesame Street’s iconic music catalog available for streaming on major music streaming platforms in Japan, bringing generations of beloved songs to children, families, and fans.
In the first phase of the rollout, more than 100 albums and approximately 1,200 songs are planned for release, with additional titles to be added on a rolling basis. The collection spans decades of Sesame Street music, featuring both classic favorites and newer songs designed to inspire singing, dancing, learning, and joyful play.
This marks Sesame Street’s first major music streaming launch in Japan in many years, offering Japanese audiences a new way to experience the rich musical legacy of the globally trusted children’s brand. Rooted in familiar songs and rhythmic storytelling that encourage repetition, participation, and emotional connection, the catalog fits naturally into everyday routines. Whether during playtime, commuting, or winding down, the songs reinforce the values and educational approach that have made Sesame Street a beloved presence for generations.
