Hallie Ruvin is Senior Vice President of Communications & Public Affairs at Sesame Workshop, the global impact nonprofit behind Sesame Street. She leads communications for the Workshop globally, spearheading strategic communications and storytelling efforts to elevate the Sesame brand and advance its mission to help children everywhere grow smarter, stronger, and kinder. Ruvin oversees Brand Narrative & Public Affairs, Public Relations, and Events.

Ruvin joined Sesame in 2017, most recently leading the Global Brand Narrative & Public Affairs team and previously overseeing Strategic Communications for the Social Impact & Philanthropy portfolio. 

Prior to joining Sesame Workshop, Ruvin served in a number of communications roles at the White House and State Department during the Obama Administration, most recently as Associate White House Communications Director, where she developed communications strategy and led the White House’s constituency media efforts. She also led press advance teams for President Obama’s visits around the world, supporting his historic visit to Cuba, the G20 Summit in Russia, his trip as the first sitting president to visit Laos, and dozens more. Ruvin also served in media logistics roles on President Obama’s re-election campaign and at the US Department of State, supporting major summits with world leaders including NATO, G8, and APEC. 

Ruvin is an alumna of the George Washington University, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa with a degree in International Affairs. She lives in New York City with her family.
