And you join a growing community of Sesame Heroes who believe that when we invest in children, we create a smarter, stronger, kinder world.

Your monthly support gives Sesame the flexibility to be there for children and families when they need us most — so we can plan ahead, respond quickly, and meet children’s most pressing needs, whatever they may be.

Our Heroes

Meet some of the people helping Sesame show up for children everywhere.

I grew up with Sesame Street, watching with my parents, my sisters, and my friends. It was part of my childhood and helped reinforce the values my parents instilled in me—compassion, understanding, and empathy.

Those lessons feel just as important today. I believe it’s essential that children continue to have programming that helps them understand one another and grow into kind, caring people.

Sesame Street has stayed with me in more ways than one. To this day, I have a painting of Oscar the Grouch as a Mets fan hanging in my law office—and it’s one of the pieces almost every client comments on. It’s a small reminder of just how lasting a place Sesame Street can have in our lives.

I decided to support Sesame Workshop in honor of my nephew, who has always loved Sesame Street. One Halloween, he dressed as Elmo and I joined him as Cookie Monster — a costume I’ve happily brought back several times since!

As a psychology professor, I also share with my students how Sesame Street uses research and psychology to help children learn and grow. I’m especially inspired by the role Sesame can play in early learning for children who may not have access to preschool. Supporting Sesame Workshop is a meaningful way for me to help bring those opportunities to more children and families.

I loved watching Sesame Street with my kids when they were young. It created such a positive, uplifting learning environment — and it was fun! I still smile thinking about “The Dentist of Seville,” “Eeee-klahoma,” the Count, and so many other memorable moments. What has always stayed with me is the way Sesame Street shows children what the world can look like when we treat one another with empathy and kindness. I’m grateful to support Sesame Workshop as it continues to bring that spirit to new generations of children and families. To me, the people behind this work are the true heroes.
